Description

The basic scope of the project consists of removal and replacement of approximately 300 linear feet of 2- foot tall planter retaining walls. The existing walls are constructed as dry-laid sandstone block and occur at two different locations in the park, both adjacent to picnic shelters. The work scope includes the removal of the existing stone walls and reconstruction of new walls at the former height and alignment. The proposed wall will consist of a reinforced concrete footing, concrete block structural walls, and stone facing on the concrete block. There are two bid options for the stone facing. Bid Option ‘A’ is the re-use of the sandstone block material with grouted mortar joints for the facing. Bid Option ‘B’ is to provide and install new 4” deep stone veneer for the facing of the walls and to reuse the existing stone block only for the capstones.
