Description | Cost Estimate: $100,000-$150,000 For furnishing all labor, materials and equipment and performing all work necessary for 2022 MTAA Pavement Repair Program at Topeka Regional Airport and Business Center and Philip Billard Municipal Airport, Topeka, Kansas. A. Concrete remove and replace - Clean saw cut full depth, remove and haul away existing deteriorated concrete pavement. Furnish and install a 6" thick 4000 PSI concrete pavement. Backfill with black dirt and seed any areas (no mulch) that are in contact with grass. B. Asphalt remove and replace - Saw cut or mill existing asphalt to the depth of the associated bid items. Haul away existing deteriorated asphalt. Asphalt Mix - KDOT Commercial Grade (Class A). Tack oil to be placed between lifts. Joint seal and striping by others. C. All pavements shall be graded to provide positive drainage for the new pavement surfaces. New pavement surfaces shall be adequately sloped to provide for storm water drainage and also be free of water ponding locations. The anticipated date that project work may commence is established as August 15, 2022. The owner has established a contract substantially completion date of September 16, 2022 with a project completion date of September 30, 2022. All project work shall be substantially completed within the stated timeframe. Once work has commenced on the pavement repair program, the contactor shall complete all project activities with a 3 week (21 calendar days) period. Each proposal must be accompanied by a bid guarantee in the amount of five (5) percent of the total amount of the bid. The bid guarantee may be by certified check or bid bond made payable to Metropolitan Topeka Airport Authority. The successful bidder will be required to furnish separate performance and payment bonds each in the amount equal to 100% of the contract price at the time of contract execution.. All proposals submitted in accordance with the instructions presented herein will be subject to evaluation. Bids may be held by the Metropolitan Topeka Airport Authority for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of evaluating bids prior to award of contract. Project work items shall be in compliance with the CITY OF TOPEKA AND SHAWNEE COUNTY STANDARD TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS, 2016. The right is reserved, as the Metropolitan Topeka Airport Authority may require, to reject any and all bids and to waive any informality in the bids received. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. |
