Description | **As of April 03, 2022, project is cancelled. Project is no longer needed.** OEM Building Expansion. Proposals should include the following: 1. Proposal to construct the expansion of the OEM Building as designed and specified in the construction documents. The expansion is located at the existing OEM Building and construction is to include, but is not limited to, the building, site work and site utilities. The existing OEM Building will remain operational and coordination with the County is required. 2. The contractor is to furnish a price that includes all equipment, materials, labor required to construction the expansion in accordance with the drawings and specification. Proposal/Contract/Construction Documents, including Drawings and Technical Specifications are on file at Goodwin-Lasiter-Strong, 1609 S. Chestnut, Ste. 202, Lufkin, Texas 75901. Documents may be viewed and downloaded free of charge (with the option to purchase hard copies) from Walker County. A proposal bond in the amount of 5 percent of the proposal issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each proposal [for those contracts that exceed $100,000]. A certified check or bank draft payable to Walker County or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Proposal Bond. Attention is called to the fact that not less than, the federally determined prevailing (Davis-Bacon and Related Acts) wage rate, as issued by the Texas Department of Agriculture Office of Rural Affairs and contained in the contract documents, must be paid on this project. In addition, the successful proposer must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual identity, gender identity, or national origin. Walker County reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or to waive any informalities in the proposal. Proposals may be held by Walker County for a period not to exceed 30 days from the date of the proposal opening for the purpose of evaluating the proposals and investigating the proposer's qualifications prior to the contract award. All contractors/subcontractors who's System for Award Management (SAM.gov) registration is not active or that are debarred, suspended or otherwise excluded from or ineligible for participation on federal assistance programs may not undertake any activity in part or in full under this project.
