Description

1. Proper staging of materials. Materials shall arrive onsite in their manufacturers labeling and be kept in a watertight/temperature safe environment prior to installation as per all manufacturers’ recommendations that apply. 2. Remove 1,600 SF of existing asphaltic 3-tab shingles and underlayment components down to the lumber decking. Remove and dispose of 60 LF of ridge vent. 200 LF of edge metal components should also be removed and properly disposed of. 3. The moisture damaged lumber deck should then be removed and replaced. 4. New synthetic underlayment (1,600 SF) should then be installed atop the lumber deck per manufacturer recommendations. Ensure the underlayment is positively lapped to prevent water bucking. 5. Install new aluminum edge metal (200 LF) along all rake lines and eaves. The underlayment should transition atop the edge metal at the eave or be stripped in with self-adhered membrane or roofing cement. 6. Install 1,600 SF of new three-tab asphaltic shingles and 60 LF of aluminum ridge vent per manufacturer’s recommendations. Ensure new shingle application adhered to all required wind load specifications. New shingles should be of the aesthetic choosing of the building owner.
