Willa Cather Historic Childhood Home Restoration and Rehabilitation

Project Description: Project consists of Rehabilitation of the childhood home of Willa Cather. The home is a wood frame home and site amenities The project is being funded by a grant from the Save America's Treasures grant program, administered by the National Park Service, US Department of the Interior. Willa Cather's childhood bedroom, located on the second floor of the house is a unique and very important historic space. The wallpaper in this room is extremely fragile and shall be conserved by the Owner's conservator under a separate contract at the end of the construction time period. This room shall be cleaned and protected prior to any work occurring. See the drawings for additional information. The general contractor shall protect this room from all dust, debris and personnel at all times. Substantial Completion shall be achieved no later than 30 June, 2023 with Final Completion no later than 31 July, 2023. Project Location: 245 North Cedar Street, Red Cloud, Nebraska.
