Description | Protection, careful removal and secured storage of select doors, door hardware, or other items identified for salvage. Provide all necessary temporary measures including temporary facilities, utilities, fencing, erosion and sediment control, excavation support and protection, signage and safety measures for park patrons. Site work will involve a new ComEd electrical service to the Fieldhouse. This includes all other miscellaneous site improvements, including a new circuit breaker panel and power distribution to stage lighting at the Auditorium. The First Floor Lobby reception desk will be modified to provide an accessible transaction counter. A full-height temporary painted plywood construction barrier with locking door will be erected at the north end of the second floor Vanderpoel Art Gallery. The Art Gallery elevator level will include modification of an existing Janitor’s Closet and construction of a new Art Gallery Elevator Vestibule and Art Gallery Pantry with adjacent Storage Closet. Second Floor Auditorium modifications will include: replacement of a portion of the stage; stripping and refinishing the existing wood stage floor including sanding, patching of damaged areas, staining and applying transparent finish; relocation of the Control Room and associated control equipment; installation of a new accessible platform lift to the stage; new stage stairs; electrical and lighting improvements; new signage; and replacement of select doors, frames and hardware. Second Floor Lobby modifications will include: removal of an existing Storage Room; construction of a new Control Room with 2-hour rated walls; construction of a new accessible washroom; construction of a new ramp and stairs to Gym level; installation of a new accessible dual-level drinking fountain with bottle filler; new coffered ceiling; new lighting, signage and finishes at all associated floor, wall and ceiling surfaces. |
