Valley Creek WRF Clarifier Rehabilitation and Crane Modifications

PROJECT DESCRIPTION This project includes the following elements which are to be performed at the Valley Creek Water Reclamation Facility (WRF): Replacement or coat- ing for select items in the Headworks area, an elevated ramp to facilitate truck loading of screenings, repair of spalled concrete in several clarifiers, structural repairs in several clarifiers, coating of several clarifier mecha- nisms and associated ferrous metal sur- faces, removal and/or replacement of the concrete topping in several clari- fiers, replacement of several existing valves, coating or replacement of sev- eral corroded metal elements, repair of leaking joints in digester area, coating of the cover for Digester No. 2, modi- fications in Pump Room B, a new motor operated valve on the plant water system, replacement of the efflu- ent pump rail system, replacement of two effluent pump VFDs, conveyor replacements in the dewatering area, demolition of some items in the dewa- tering area, modifications to the blower water system, and repair of leaking digester piping. The Contractor is hereby advised that TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE on this project. The Contract Time for this project is five hundred forty (540) consecutive calendar days from the effective date of the written Notice to Proceed to achieve Final Acceptance. Liquidated damages will be assessed if this time limit is exceeded. The Contractor may apply for an extension of time in accordance with the provi- sions of the Contract; however, such an extension must be approved prior to the Contract Completion Date to avoid the imposition of liquidated damages.
