Description

Description: The project site is located on 1427 West Broadway Street, Missoula, MT 58901 and contains a 9,936 square foot main building and a 456 square foot maintenance shed. The project consists of asbestos and lead based paint abatement, deconstruction of any building materials of value that can be recycled or reused, removal and disposal of the remainder of the building, and other related items in accordance with the Plans and Specifications. Project Category Code: Demolition/Building Removal/Hauling/Salvage, Asbestos Abatement The project site is located on 1427 West Broadway Street, Missoula, MT 58901 and includes a main singlestory "U"-shaped building with 33 rooms, a guest laundry room, an office, a housekeeping laundry and cleaning room, and a small basement/furnace room beneath the southeast corner of the building. The main building is 9,936 square feet (ft2) and a small maintenance storage shed is 456 ft 2 that is located southeast of the main building. The site is paved in the main parking area and in the additional parking lot adjoining the east side of the building. The west side of the building is unpaved. No permanent vegetation or lawn areas exist on the site. The site is bordered to the north by West Broadway Street, to the east by a building supply warehouse, to the south by an autobody repairshop, and to the west by a vacant lot. The intersection of North Russell Street and West Broadway is located adjacent, northwest of the site. The project consists of: asbestos and lead based paint abatement as detailed in the attached Comprehensive Inspection Report for Asbestos and Lead Containing Building Materials prepared by Abatement Contractors of Montana, LLC (ACM) and detailed below. Following abatement, selected contractor(s) will deconstruct building materials of value that can be recycled or reused. Following deconstruction, contractor will remove and dispose of the remainder of the building and leave existing atgrade surfaces intact. The basement mechanical room will be filled in. All other related work will be completed in accordance with the specifications outlined in the bid manual. Abatement and hazardous building material disposal must be completed by a licensed contractor that is certified by the Montana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Asbestos Control Program and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Lead Based Paint Program and adhere to DEQ/EPA accepted standards and procedures. Contractor(s) are required to follow all federal, state, and local regulations during abatement and deconstruction activities.
