Description

11/22/2022 at 2:00 PM PT Clarification requests are submitted timely to Larry Armda, Project Manager, larmada@bond.collegeofthedesert.edu. Project cost 1,350,000.00 Contractor Responsibility: Provide all labor, materials, equipment, accessories, hardware, piping, components, trucking, lift or crane equipment, and scaffolding as may be required for the complete and functional retrofit and miscellaneous repair of the Central Plant Towers #1, #2, #3, and #4 to the satisfaction of the Owner. 1. All new equipment and materials installed must be the same as the Original Equipment and Materials (OEM): BAC Mfg. Model #FXV-364-41S Closed Circuit Cooling Towers). a. At Towers #1, #2, #3, and #4. Scope of Work includes, but is not limited to: i. Remove and replace: 1. 75 HP fan motor, electrical connector, motor-mount and bracing element as may be required. 2. Drive shaft, pulleys, sheaves, bearings and drive belt 3. Interior wall diagonal steel rod bracing, fillpak materials and drift eliminators. (Excluded from Tower #1) 4. Water sprayers 5. Actuator and actuator valve ii. Pressure-wash and thoroughly clean towers: 1. Exterior walls, fins, ladder and top platform 2. Interior walls, platforms and basin. (Excluded from Tower #1) 3. Dispose all debris and basin sediment iii. Repair leak and re-pack all condenser pipe penetrations to tower 2. Replace chem-feed drain pump, motor and controls with Lockwood drain pump, motor and controls (OEM): Model #VIS-53, Serial #775826 (see photos #6 - #9) 3. Refurbish two (2) 200 HP Condenser pump and motor (see photo #12): impeller, bearings, seals and motor 4. Provide electronic submittals for each piece of equipment and material (OEM) for Owner review and approval. 5. In submitting a bid proposal, Contractor acknowledges: a. It is their responsibility for all costs including return shipping cost for equipment not preapproved in writing by the Owner. b. Means and methods are Contractor responsibility; however: i. Only one (1) cooling tower may be taken off-line at a time for retrofit. ii. The next cooling tower shall not be taken off-line until a tower has been completely retrofitted, made operational and accepted by the Owner. iii. Only one (1) 200 HP condenser pump and motor may be taken off-line at a time 6. Provide a construction schedule indicating: a. Submittal review and approval b. Fabrication and delivery of equipment and materials c. Retrofit work at Tower #1, #2, #3, and #4: demolition; cleaning; new installations; actuator and actuator valve replacement; repair leak and re-pack all condenser pipe penetrations; start-up & acceptance 7. Removal and disposal of all spoil material, discarded equipment and debris will be contractor responsibility. 8. Provide all dumpsters, portable toilets, worker's cooling station, drinking water, personal protection equipment (PPE). 9. Provide temporary chain-link construction fence at perimeter of work area. 10. Perform and submit results of dynamic fan balancing and vibration testing for all cooling towers #1, #2, #3, and #4. 11. Paint exterior pipe at the condenser pumps, all pipes around and under the towers including stanchions to match existing. 12. All bolts shall be stainless steel regardless of OEM equipment provided. 13. Contractor shall prepare and submit notice that the work is ready for final inspection and acceptance 14. Closeout submittals include, but not limited to: o Operation and maintenance manual for new equipment o Warranties and Guarantees o Spare Parts if required 15. Final payment will not be issued until all reports, manuals, and warranties are received and approved by the Owner.
