Description | Design/Build team for the Bee Ridge Water Reclamation Facility (BRWRF) Interim Process Improvements project. Services from the selected team may include, but not limited to, engineering, design, survey, development of technical specifications and plans, permitting, inspection, construction and EOR services. The BRWRF is an Advanced Secondary Treatment facility, located on 143 acres at 5550 Lorraine Road, Sarasota, FL 34240. It is a Type 1 activated sludge domestic wastewater treatment facility, permitted at 12.0 million gallons per day (MGD) maximum monthly average daily flow, with typical flows ranging from 7.0 to 9.0 MGD. The BRWRF will be undergoing an expansion 18.0 MGD and conversion to Advanced Wastewater Treatment over the next several years. However, in the interim, process improvements are needed to meet effluent requirements to use Class V Recharge Wells currently under construction. The process improvements may include, but not limited to, altering the activated sludge process by expanding the anoxic zone, adding internal internal mixed liquor recycling, additional modifications for supplying a carbon source at each of three aeration basins, and systems integration with SCADA upgrades to interface with all I&C equipment, electrical circuits and conduits. The project schedule to Final Acceptance is 330 days and must be designed/constructed while the BRWRF is in operation 24 hours per day/7 days per week. The improvements are expected to have an asset life of 5-7 years. |
