Description

The Federal Pacific and Westinghouse Electric panel boards and circuit breakers at Guterman Lab and the Tower road Greenhouse Complex are no longer manufactured and replacement circuit breakers are no longer available. The existing circuit breakers no longer function reliably to interrupt current to building equipment due to their age. Additionally, the HID light fixtures in the Guterman Lab 155 range Greenhouses are failing regularly and affecting the occupant’s ability to conduct teaching and research. Replacement parts are no longer available to repair the light fixtures and replacement fixtures can only be purchase in bulk by special order. HID Lighting is being phased out by manufacturers with newer technology LED lighting. LED lighting is more energy efficient and is now the preferred lighting to use in Greenhouses. Two-year contract (estimated).
