Description

Regional School Unit #24 is requesting proposals to remove and dispose of existing roof shingles, and replace with new shingles on a section of the gym at the Cave Hill School (Eastbrook Road) in Eastbrook. Proposals submitted shall meet the following minimum requirements: Affected area covers a total of approximately 4900 square feet. Existing shingles, tack paper, nails and drip edge must be removed and properly disposed of. The contractor will provide the owner with a certificate or receipt documenting proper disposal. Loose nails on plywood sheathing must be re-nailed. Roof must be protected against water damage at all times. The Contractor will repair any water damage occurring during or as a result of construction. Install 3' ice and water shield at eaves, valleys and roof to wall transitions along with proper aluminum and or lead step flashing. Install synthetic underlayment fabric documented to be suitable underlayment under applicable codes and fastened according to manufacturer's written instructions over the remaining areas of the roof. Install Air Filter. Flash Filter Vent or equivalent ridge vent at roof peak. 8" aluminum drip-edge on all eaves, color shall match existing drip-edge. Rake drip-edge flashing over underlayment. Vent pipe flashing on pipes penetrating roof. Asphalt shingles minimum 270 lb/sq. The color shall match the existing color. Warranty paperwork must be provided to the owner. Install asphalt shingles according to manufacturer's written instructions. Shingles installed 5" to the weather with a minimum of six (6) roofing nails located according to manufacturer's written instructions. Site must be cleaned of all debris. Work may not start until after June 27, 2023, and must be completed by August 15, 2023. All labor warranted for minimum 2 years from date of completion Contractors are strongly urged to visit the site before submitting proposals. Proposals must clearly describe the scope of the work to be completed, the materials to be applied, and the schedule for completing the proposed work. References for similar work must be submitted with the proposals. Contractors must provide proof of Workers Compensation and General Liability Insurance coverage of $1,000,000 for each occurrence with the proposal. Payment will be made in full when the project is complete and the work has been inspected. Failure to submit all required documents will result in disqualification of the proposal. Each proposal MUST contain: A description of the scope of the work to be completed, the materials to be applied, the schedule for completion, and completion price. References from sources for whom similar work has been completed. Proof of Workers Compensation and General Liability Insurance coverage of $1,000,000 for each occurrence.
