Dorothea Dix Park Gateway Plaza and Play

CMAR services for the Dorothea Dix Campus Phase 1, the Gateway Plaza and Play (Gateway). Phase 1 – the Gateway portion as identified in the Dorothea Dix Park Master Plan. The initial phase of the Master Plan development plans is to deliver the first active park edge entry, which includes the only existing at-grade connection between Dix Park and the adjacent residential neighborhood. Included in the proposed Gateway project area is a new entrance to the park, extension of Grissom and/or Daladams Streets, a portion of multi-use greenway within the park boundary, temporary parking area, and transit stops, new public gathering spaces, including civic plaza(s), cookout zones and play area(s), a water feature/fountain, pedestrian paths, planted areas including lawns, gardens and plant beds, hardscape elements, site furnishings, public art element(s), new architectural pavilion structure(s) with bathrooms to support park programming and renovations to one of two historic houses located within the project area.
