Forest County Roof Replacement

Work of this contract consists of the replacement of five separate roofs that are located over the former Sheriff Residence and Jail, the South Annex and a portion of a roof over the maintenance garage. This work will include the removal and complete replacement of all the existing roofing, insulation, flashings, roof drain, edge details and coping. Also included will be the removal of 2 brick and masonry chimneys and a wood framed access hatch. The chimneys will be demolished to approximately one foot below the existing roof deck and infilled with treated 2x6 framing and 3/4” treated plywood. The roof hatch is to be removed and infilled with 2x framing and 3/4” plywood. The substrates beneath the existing roofing include 1x wood boards, cast in place concrete, precast concrete, and metal decking over steel bar joists. The project drawings indicate where the various substrates are located. All roof penetrations are to be receive new flashings or boots as needed to conform to the manufacturer’s warranty requirements.
