Description | Sealed bids marked Sealed Bid LA 43 Waterline Improvements (Mulberry St. to James Chapel Rd.) to be funded by the Town of Albany will be received by the Owner for the construction of the project described as follows: The proposed project consists of the upgrading the existing 4-inch Asbestos Cement (AC) waterline along LA 43 in the Town of Albany, LA from Mulberry Street to James Chapel Road. The Contract Work consists of abandoning the existing 4-inch AC waterline and installing approximately 6,700 linear feet of 12-inch waterline consisting of PVC and PE pipe with associated valves, fire hydrants, and fittings. Any bids received after the specified time and date will not be considered. The information for Bidders, Form of Bid Proposal, Form of Contract, Plans, Specifications, and Forms of Bid Bond, Performance and Payment Bond, and other contract documents may be examined at the Office of the Engineer for the contract, Shread-Kuyrkendall and Associates, Inc. located at 13016 Justice Avenue, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70816. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids for just cause; such actions will be in accordance with Title 38 of the Louisiana Revised Statute. Each Bidder must deposit with his/her bid, security in the amount, form, and subject to the conditions provided in the Information for Bidders. Sureties used for obtaining bonds must appear as acceptable on the U.S. Department of Treasury Circular 570. No bidder may withdraw his/her bid within forty-five (45) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The Contractor shall begin mobilization and procurement of materials within ten (10) working days of the receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Bids shall be accepted from Contractors who are licensed under the classification of Municipal and Public Works Construction. Any person with disabilities requiring Special Accommodations must contact the Town Hall, Albany, LA (225) 567-1101 no later than seven (7) days prior to bid opening. |
