Description | PRESOLICITATION NOTICE Date: 12/13/2023 Subject: Shasta-Trinity National Forest Salt Fire Road Repair Proposed Solicitation Number: RFP 12970224R0007 Closing Response Date: 12/28/2023 Contract Specialist: Matthew (Matt) Killian, matthew.killian@usda.gov Procedure used to solicit and award contract: This notice is in support of a contemplated Small Business Set-aside Request for Proposal (RFP). Only Small Business Entities can submit offers in response to the anticipated request for proposals. Description: This project is a competitive Small Business Set-aside Request for Proposal for road repair activities in Shasta-Trinity National Forest. The contemplated project requires the Contractor to provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, incidentals, inspection, quality control, and supplies necessary to accomplish the following key performance areas: Asphalt Pulverizing and Paving - The contractor will be responsible for pulverizing existing pavement into subbase and conducting 4" Full Depth Reclamation (FDR) of a two-lane road. The subgrade will be properly prepared and compacted to meet the standards, specifications, and plans. Double Chip Seal - The contractor will be responsible for double chip seal application to an existing chipped campground loop and roadway. Two layers of chip will be laid in accordance with standards, specifications, and plans to include tack coat and/or fog seal. Reconditioning - The contractor will be responsible for reconditioning the road within the road prism and as outlined in the specification and plans. This includes addressing ditches, culverts, shoulders of the road, turnouts and other road prism features specified. Place of contract performance: National Recreation Area (NRA) Ranger District, Shasta-Trinity National Forest Magnitude: Between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000 Anticipated Award Date: 2/15/2024 Projected Period of Performance: Notice to Proceed (NTP) + 120 Days.
