Description | The Project base bid is a roof recover using insulation and Modified Bitumen Roof System with the alternate bid to replace the Structural Standing Seam Metal Roof at Midwest Business Center. The scope of the Project shall include all equipment, materials, labor, training, warranties and construction and/or installation services necessary to implement the contemplated construction of a modified bitumen roof system for the recover bid and 'in like kind" for the alternate replacement bid. A 20-year NDL Total System Manufacturer roof warranty covering poor workmanship and material defect is required upon completion. A 5-year Contractor roof warranty covering workmanship is required upon completion. All Bids for the Work shall be made only on the blank Bid Form included in the Project Manual and shall be complete with a Bid price for each and every item named. An authorized official must sign the Bid. Bids may be delivered by mail or in person. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. No telegraphic Bid or telegraphic modification of a Bid will be considered. Bids received after the time specified above will be returned unopened. NOTICE: Bids that contain omissions, erasures, alterations, or additions not called for, conditional or alternate Bids unless called for, or that contain irregularities of any kind may be rejected. Upon opening and examining the submitted Bid Proposals, the Village anticipates awarding the Contract for the Work on the Project to the Bidder determined to be the lowest responsible Bidder. The Village of Lansing reserves the right to waive any irregularities, technicalities, informalities, and other nonmaterial variances contain in any Bid Proposal and to reject all Bids. The Village reserves the right to hold any received Bid Proposal for a period of ninety (90) days from the opening date set forth above. The Contract shall be subject to "AN ACT regulating wages of laborers, mechanics and other workers employed in any public works by the state, county, city or any public body or any political subdivision or by anyone under contract for public works," approved June 26, 1941, as amended, except that where a prevailing wage violates a federal law, order, or ruling, the rate conforming to the federal law, order, or ruling shall govern. BID SECURITY: 10% of Bid will be included in the Bid Package. CONTRACT SECURITY: The successful Bidder will be required to provide performance and payment bonds covering the full amount of the Contract Price or Contract Sum securing full and faithful performance of the Contract and the payment for all labor material furnished by the Bidder or anyone furnishing such under the Bidder's contract or a subcontract of any tier. The successful Bidder will also be required to comply with the requirements under Illinois and federal law applicable to a public works project, including the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act. |
