Description | The work for the 55 NORTH TEMPLE STREET PICKEBALL COURTS shall consist of, but not be limited to, the complete and satisfactory construction of installation of: - 0.8 Acre Clearing & Grubbing - 1,600 SY Fine Grading - 130 Tons of Machine-Placed 9.5mm HMA - 1,100 SY Mirafi 140N - 110 CY Reclaim Asphalt - 350 CY Aggregate Base - 201 CY Aggregate Subbase - 2,100 SY Loam, Seed & Mulch - 1, 4 FT Dia. Outlet Control Structure - 50 FT 10" ADS N-12 HDPE Pipe - 10 FT, 12" SDR35 PVC Pipe - 280 FT, 4" Perforated PVC Underdrain - 386 FT, Chainlink Fence Work will include the construction of paved pickleball courts, finished with a textured, acrylic, color surface (blue & green), and surrounded by perimeter fencing. The access drive and parking area will be a layer of reclaim asphalt, with a 15-ft paved driveway apron at North Temple Street. The existing North Temple Street sidewalk will be modified for slipform concrete curb tipdowns on each side of the access drive. Stormwater infrastructure will include underdrains, a culvert, stormwater detention pond with outlet control structure & rip-rap level lip spreader. Landscaping features include a buffer comprised of two, staggered rows of evergreens along the North Temple Street frontage. No Proposal will be considered unless it is accompanied by a bid security in the form of a bid bond or certified check in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price, made out in favor of the City of Lewiston. All bid securities will be released upon deliverance of a signed Contract or, if no Contract award is made, within forty-five (45) days after the opening of the Proposals, unless forfeited as herein stipulated. A Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond, preferably executed on AIA Bond Form Number A311, in an amount equal to the total Contract price, of a surety company satisfactory to the Purchasing Agent, will be required of the successful bidder to ensure completion of the work and the proper fulfillment of the conditions of the Contract. The total Contract price shall mean the total bid price as stated in the Proposal based on the estimated quantities of the various items of work. Work, including over-winter loaming & seeding, paving, and stormwater detention pond, must be completed by November 15, 2023. Final loaming & seeding & court painting/striping must be completed by May 1, 2024. Committee reserves the right to accept any Proposal or reject any or all Proposals if it is deemed to be in the public interest to do so.
