Carroll Street Utility Improvements

The existing 10-inch, cast iron water main shall be removed and replaced with a new 12-inch, C900 PVC water main. The City will isolate the existing water main to allow the Contractor to remove and replace pipeline in the same location. No water services are believed to be connected to the existing main, and none are planned for the proposed water main. Contractor shall extend new water pipeline at the connection near E. Tyler at Carroll, then extend north to the connection near Larkin at Carroll to complete the installation. The attached sketch shows the general area and extents of the construction. An existing 10-inch, VCT sanitary sewer main shall be removed and replaced with a new 12-inch, SDR 26 PVC sewer main. The existing sewer is active and will require the Contractor to manage the flow during removal and replacement of pipeline and manholes. No sewer service laterals are believed to be connected to the existing main, and none are planned for the proposed sewer main. The Contractor shall replace the existing brick manholes, one near E. Tyler at Carroll and another near Larkin at Carroll, and construct two additional manholes along the route to intercept connecting pipelines. Manhole depths are approximately 9 feet. The City shall provide precast manhole bottom, barrel sections, cone, and access frame and cover for the project. Contractor shall be responsible for considering the impact of rain events and secure the job site in such a manner that prevents run off from a rain event from flowing into an active sewer.
