Description

This project consists of but is not limited to the construction of a new bituminous boat ramp access drive leading to a 16' wide X 40' long concrete boat ramp with a perimeter rip rap apron extending 37 feet beyond water edge, and along approximately 40 lin. ft. of shoreline. A Geo textile filter curtain will be placed around the perimeter of the construction within the river to perform excavation with use of a medium-duty tracked excavator, to remove river bottom sediment material, followed by placement of grading stone and concrete rail to support the new concrete boat access ramp to be comprised of 8 pre-cast slabs, each 5' long, 16' wide and 8" thick, affixed together with metal side plates. Once set the ramp sections will be bordered with Rip Rap Stone to the dimension shown. The riverbank will be cut and shaped to accommodate the new bituminous access drive to be comprised of 4" of bituminous pavement set atop 9" of granular subbase that will transition from the existing gravel parking and turn area. The proposed access approach will have stone lined drainage swale along each of its sides transitioning into the boat access perimeter rip rap stone apron. Significant trees existent at the site are not to be disturbed and shall be protected, while all disturbed ground surfaces of the embankment shall be restored to recreational turf and native growth resultant from re-distribution of excavated ground duff. Six new trees will be planted around the new ramp and approach and placement of up to eight barrier stone along the edge of the approach is also included. Best management practices to prevent or control erosion / sedimentation will be employed throughout the construction and surface restoration transitional periods
