Description | This Task Order Contract projects includes, but is not limited to, the construction of Guardrail and Handrail Maintenance, and any other work required for the completion of the assigned projects located throughout the City. Project construction may include but is not limited to: repair the existing guardrails and handrails, and removal and replacement of some parts of the guardrails and handrails. This contract will be focused on the maintenance of guardrails; handrail maintenance may be required. Other miscellaneous items may include retaining wall (combination type), sidewalk around the guardrails and handrails and any other items required due to the site conditions to accomplish the project scope. No direct payment shall be made for the following specification items. Contractor shall include cost of these items in various other bid items: 100.1 Mobilization 1002.A Insurance 101.1 Preparing Right-of-Way 530.1 Barricades, Signs, and Traffic Handling 540 Temporary Erosion, Sedimentation and Water Pollution Prevention and Control The payment for bonds will be no more than 2.5% of the total Contract amount, or the lump sum Contractor bid amount, whichever is less. Excavation due to construction of post foundation, sidewalk, retaining walls, and/or any bid items within this contract that requires excavation shall not be paid for directly but shall be included in various other bid items of which it forms a component part. It is the contractor's responsibility to produce and implement the traffic control layout for each project location. The city has the right to direct the contractor to add additional traffic control measures should there be a concern of safety for the general public, at no additional expense to the city.
