Description

This project has been cancelled. For all labor, materials, tools and equipment necessary to grit screen and refinish wood floors. Contractor shall visit the sites and become totally familiar with existing conditions. Contractor is responsible for his own measurements. Work to be done and coordinated in the buildings listed below. This contract will be for a period of one (1) year, beginning on July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023. At the option of the University, and acceptance by the Contractor, the contract may be renewed/extended for two (2) additional twelve (12) month periods, at the terms, conditions and prices referred to in the specifications. Contract is not to exceed thirty-six (36) months. Buff entire floor using #100 Grit screen-back or equal grit sandpaper with heavy duty buffing machine. Vacuum or brush sweep until the surface is free of sanding dust, then sweep the floor with a Turkish towel dampened with solvent, under a sweeping brush. Apply a uniform coat of floor finish. Without excessive rubbing, apply with the grain of the wood in straight even strokes, working and area not to exceed six feet square. Avoid having puddles of excessive amount of finish on the floor. Inspect carefully to avoid "skips". Allow finish to dry for at least 12 hours under normal conditions. When completely dry, burnish lightly with #2 steel wool, then sweep the floor clean with a Turkish towel dampened with solvent. The floor finish product must be an approved product of the Maple Flooring Manufactures Association. The product shall be equal to world class court & gym finish as manufactured by National Coatings Co., or Huntington (Ecolab) Courtmaster II Wood Floor finish. Existing Buildings/site List: 1. Teachers Education Center (Tec) Pod a - Middle Lab Gym - Approximately 1,000 Sq. Ft. 2. Creative and Performing Arts Building (Capa) - Recital Hall Stage -approximately 1,300 Sq. Ft. 3. Health & Human Performance Building - Gymnasium - Approximately 12,000 Sq. Ft. 4. Health & Human Performance Building - Dance Room - Approximately 1,000 Sq. Ft. 5. Prather Coliseum - Main Arena Gymnasium- Approximately 26,000 Sq. Ft. 6. Prather Coliseum - Competition Court - Approximately 7,200 Sq. Ft. 7. Wellness, Recreation and Activity Center (Wrac) - Gymnasium - Approximately 12,000 Sq. Ft. 8. Wellness, Recreation and Activity Center (Wrac) - Racquetball Courts (3) - Approximately 2,400 Sq. Ft. 9. Wellness, Recreation and Activity Center (Wrac) - Dance Room - Approximately 800 Sq. Ft. 10. Student Union Ballroom Approximately 1,420 Sq. Ft. Bids may be examined 72 hours after request is made. Information pertaining to completed files may be secured by visiting Northwestern State University Purchasing during normal working hours. Written bid tabulations will not be furnished. Award will be made to the lowest responsible bidder, taking into consideration the quality of the products to be supplied, their conformity with specifications, the purposes for which they are required, and the time for delivery. Northwestern State University Purchasing reserves the right to award items separately, grouped or on an all-or-none basis and to reject any or all bids and waive any informalities. Upon Agreement of Northwestern State University Purchasing and the contractor, an open-ended requirements contract may be extended for 2 additional 12-month periods at the same prices, terms and conditions. In such cases, the total contract term cannot exceed 36 months. All rejected goods will be at seller's risk and expense, subject to seller's prompt advice as to disposition. Unless otherwise arranged all rejected goods will be returned and charged back including all transportation and handling costs. All packages must reflect the NSU purchase order number or it will be refused and returned at vendor's expense. Northwestern State University reserves the right to cancel this contract with thirty (30) days written notice.
