Town of Avon Ce for Dan Jones Road, Phases I & II

As of March 20, 2023 an engineer firm has been selected for this project. Phase I of construction is expected to begin Spring 2023 and Phase II is expected to begin Spring 2024 but has not been confirmed. The closed solicitation has been included below for reference. The current scope of work will include the reconstruction of Dan Jones Road from a 2-lane minor arterial to a 4-lane roadway. The roadway is anticipated to be widened to the east and west equally from the existing centerline. The typical roadway section for Des. Nos. 1801463 and 1901763 is anticipated to consist of four 12-foot-wide travel lanes (two in each direction), with a 15-foot-wide raised median, curb and gutter, 10-foot-wide multi-use path on the east side, and a 6-foot-wide sidewalk on the west side. The 15-foot-wide raised median would transition to a left turn lane as warranted at intersecting roadways. The sidewalk and multi-use path will be separated from the road by a 5-foot-wide grass buffer strip. The Des. No. 1901763 project also includes construction of a 2-lane roundabout at the intersection of Dan Jones Road and CR 150 South, and Des. No. 2001663 includes the replacement of Hendricks County Bridge 251 (NBI No. 3200251).
