Description

The proposed work consists of removing existing embedded shear connectors, repairing deteriorated concrete with high quality repair mortars on floors, double tee stems and flanges, beams, columns, walls, installing a new galvanized support angle, replacement of miscellaneous joint sealants, recoating isolated traffic toppings, cleaning existing drain lines and piping, and painting of perimeter railings. A bid bond or a certified check payable to the City of Aurora in the amount of 10% of the bid price is required with the bid presented. A 100% performance and payment bond will be required from the successful Bidder. Each Bidder shall deposit with his Bid a Bid guarantee consisting of a bank draft, Bid bond, cashier’s check, or certified check drawn on a good and solvent National or State Bank and payable to the order of the City, in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the Bid submitted, as a guaranty that in case the Bidder’s Bid is accepted. It is the intent of the City to award a contract to the lowest responsive responsible bidder meeting specifications. The City reserves the right to determine the lowest responsive responsible bidder on the basis of an individual item, groups of items, or in any way determined to be in the best interests of the City. Award will be based on the following factors, but not limited to (where applicable): (a) adherence to all conditions and requirements of the bid specifications. Bidder shall forfeit the amount deposited as liquidated damages and no mistakes or errors on the part of the Bidder shall excuse the Bidder or entitle him to a return of the aforementioned amount.
