Description

Renovation of a water / sewer project in San Francisco, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project. The objective of the project is to replace the existing filter underdrains with new stainless steel filter underdrains and miscellaneous improvements. This project is located in San Bruno, California. The work is to be performed in San Mateo County, California. Bid discounts may be applied as per San Francisco Administrative Code Chapter 14B. The LBE Subcontracting Participation Requirement is 13.00%. Both San Francisco Small & Micro-LBEs and SFPUC-LBEs (Firms certified by SF Contract Monitoring Division) can be utilized to meet this requirement. The contract consists of procuring a large amount of specialty items such as the stainless-steel underdrains and anthracite filter media and that the coating work is highly specialized to achieve the specified results. Subcontracting opportunities may include, but not limited, to the following major types of work: demolition, concrete, underdrain fabrication and installation, filter media procurement and installation, piping, and painting/coating. Please refer to Section 01 60 00 in the Specifications regarding the purchase of equipment to achieve the LBE subcontracting participation requirement. SFPUC encourages Bidders to submit a Safety Prequalification Form at least 3-weeks prior to the date of Bid opening. Bidders are required to pass the Safety Prequalification prior to SFPUC considering their bid submission complete. SFPUC will notify Bidders who have passed the Safety Prequalification prior to or on the date of Bid opening. Refer to Section 00 21 13 - Instructions to Bidders, "Bidder Qualifications" and Section 00 45 12 - Safety Prequalification for additional information. A Class "A" California Contractors License is required to bid. Furthermore, each listed subcontractor must possess appropriate active licenses for the work each subcontractor will be performing. Estimated Cost: $10,500,000 to $11,500,000. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
