Description | Replacement of two cooling units at the Leavitt Institute Building, 98 Matthews Way, Turner. The building is presently cooled by four central air conditioning compressors that tie into zoned air handling units. The air handlers also distribute heat from an oil-fired, hot water heating system. Two of the four central air conditioning units have failed, and the other two are operational but of similar vintage. The immediate need is to replace the two non-functioning compressors but, before doing so, the town would like to ensure that the replacement units will function well as part of a longer-term mechanical system upgrade plan for the building. The successful proposal will address the current cooling needs for the building, including a fixed cost to accomplish, and demonstrate how the equipment proposed will integrate into an upgrade plan that can be completed in phases. |
