Stock Island Distribution Pump Station

The project consists of demolishing the existing horizontal split case centrifugal pump station and associated structure and equipment, the steel maintenance building and yard piping. The pump station will be replaced with a variable speed "skid mounted" modular type pumps system similar to that of other existing FKAA pump stations. This pumping system, including suction and discharge piping, connection, new metering vault, electrical components and control system elements shall be incorporated into a prefabricated structure designed to meet local hurricane wind and storm surge requirements. A free standing type auxiliary power generator in a self-contained weather proof enclosure, fuel storage tank and automatic transfer switch will be incorporated adjacent to the facility. A prefabricated and pre-engineered, modular operations building with offices, a laboratory, kitchen and restroom will be installed. The pumping and generator systems and operations building will be installed on a concrete slab which will have an elevation above the 100 year floor elevation. The construction will be sequenced such that the existing pumping systems and associated facility components will remain in service until the new pump station is commissioned.
