June 2023 Project Duration 275 consecutive calendar days Bid Bond 10.00% Payment Bond 100.00% Performance Bond 100.00% Provide all labor, materials, and equipment for the installation of a new fire alarm system at Wilson High School, including but not limited to: demolition and removal of existing system, patching of walls, painting and replacing ceiling tile as needed, hazmat abatement as necessary to the work will be included in the Contractor's scope of responsibility. Existing system to remain operational until new system is tested, approved and activated. Project documentation and records shall be specific to and submitted separately for each building on campus. Bidders and subcontractors with the following license classifications must be prequalified by the District: (1) Bidders with an A or a B license and (2) Bidders and subcontractors with a C-4, C-7, C-10, C-16, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38, C-42, C-43, and/or C-46 license(s) that intend to bid as a prime contractor or as a first-tier subcontractor to a prime contractor that is bidding directly to the District. It is the responsibility of the Bidder to ensure all subcontractors, listed in their bid, are prequalified prior to the bid opening. If it is found that a Contractor has listed a Subcontractor in their bid that UTILIZES any of the licenses required to be prequalified and is NOT prequalified with the District for five (5) business days prior to the bid opening, the Contractor's bid will be rejected and deemed non-responsive. At the time bids are submitted, each bidder shall possess a valid Class B license and be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) and must maintain the license and registration throughout the duration of the project. All work performed for this project must be done by properly licensed and registered and/or certified contractors/subcontractors. Bidders and subcontractors with the following license classifications must be prequalified by the District: (1) Bidders with an A or a B license and (2) Bidders and subcontractors with a C-4, C-7, C-10, C-16, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38, C-42, C-43, and/or C-46 license(s) that intend to bid as a prime contractor or as a first-tier subcontractor to a prime contractor that is bidding directly to the District. Contractors and Subcontractors required to be prequalified or needing to renew their prequalification status must submit a complete prequalification questionnaire packet through www.QualityBidders.com no later than ten (10) business days prior to the Bid Opening. It is the responsibility of the Bidder to ensure all subcontractors, listed in their bid, are prequalified prior to the bid opening. If it is found that a Contractor has listed a Subcontractor in their bid that UTILIZES any of the licenses required to be prequalified and is NOT prequalified with the District for five (5) business days prior to the bid opening, the Contractor's bid will be rejected and deemed non-responsive. Requests for Information (RFIs) Due: 11/10/22 - 12:00pm Targeted Board Approval Date: 12/20/22 All questions and/or requests for information or clarification are to be submitted electronically through portal only no later than 12:00pm on November 10, 2022. Any RFI submitted in any other format or in any other method shall go unanswered. Bidders are not to contact any District staff directly with questions regarding this bid. AWARD: This contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible, responsive bidder. DISTRICT ALLOWANCE: A District allowance of $75,000 for unforeseen circumstances, will be added to the awarded contract. See bid form for more information. BID SECURITY: A Bid Security of 10% of total bid amount is required to be submitted with bid form. Successful Bidder will be required to furnish 100% Payment and Performance Bonds. The successful Bidder may substitute securitiesfor any monies withheld by the District to ensure performance under the Contract, in accordance with the provisions of section 22300 of the Public Contract Code. PREVAILING WAGES: The successful Bidder and its subcontractors shall pay all workers on the Project not less than the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and the general prevailing rate for holiday and overtime work as determined by the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations, State of California, for the type of work performed and the locality in which the work is to be performed within the boundaries of the District, pursuant to sections 1770 et seq. of the California Labor Code. Bidders and Bidders' subcontractors shall comply with the registration and qualification requirements pursuant to sections 1725.5 and 1771.1 of the California Labor Code. |
