Design Professional Services for Taxiway Bravo Rehabilitation

Taxiway Bravo requires rehabilitation as it has reached its useful pavement life. This Work Plan describes the scope of professional services for design and bidding phase services performed by the Airport and associated Consultant Team members for the Taxiway Bravo Rehabilitation. Major project scope components include: 1. Pavement Evaluation - Confirm the existing pavement condition by field observation and supplement geotechnical investigation. Supplemental geotechnical investigation will be evaluated/compared to the prior geotechnical evaluation of Taxiway Bravo conducted with the Runway 9-27 Reconstruction Program. This data will be utilized to develop the proposed pavement section. 2. Taxiway Bravo Design - Redesign taxiway geometry and taxiway safety/object free areas to meet current safety guidelines. 3. Redesign of adjacent taxiway connector geometry and taxiway safety/object free areas to meet current safety guidelines. 4. Design of airfield lighting, cabling, and electrical infrastructure to meet current safety guidelines. 5. Design of airfield signing and pavement markings to meet current safety guidelines. 6. Environmental Assessment of potential impacts to the condition of the pavement due to the proximity to the closed landfill. 7. Sinkhole remediation may need to be considered but is not anticipated to be needed. If the geotechnical investigation indicates karst features are present in the proposed storm water pond location, additional scope for remediation will be developed based on recommendations. 8. Design and local permitting (Northwest Florida Water Management District, Florida Department of Environmental Protection, and City of Tallahassee). 9. Development and submittal of a documented CATEX associated with the project. 10. Submittal for and coordination of FDOT and FAA design reviews. The preliminary project’s estimate of probable construction cost is $18,000,000.
