Description

Val Verde County is requesting Competitive Sealed Bids to Renovate the Flightline Maintenance Facility at Laughlin Air Force Base. The scope of work is located on the file named SOW_VVC-2022-01-14.pdf and on the Bid Tab for VVC-2022-01-14.pdf, construction standards, specification, environmental requirements and code requirements can be found on the bid packet also. Bid Security: Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond naming the County of Val Verde as obligee and duly executed by the Bidder as principal and having as surety thereon a surety company approved by the Owner, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid price (including base bid(s), option(s) and alternate(s)). ALL BID BOND FORMS MUST CONTAIN ORIGINAL SIGNATURES. The successful Bidder must furnish Performance and Payment Bonds each in the amount of 100% of the contract price from an approved Surety Company holding a permit from the State of Texas to act as Surety and acceptable according to the latest list of companies holding certificates of authority from the Secretary of Treasury of the United States, or other Surety or Sureties acceptable to the Owner. NOTE: All forms included in this package must be printed, completed and submitted in a sealed envelope and marked as instructed above. It is the responsibility of the bidder to submit any forms that may have been issued by amendment. Bidders may ask the County Engineer questions about the project until February 2, 2023 at 4:30 PM. All questions will be received by email to Carlos Velarde, P.E., at cvelarde@valverdecounty.texas.gov. The responses to these questions will be available on/or before February 23, 2023 to all interested bidders and posted on the County website. No Bids shall be withdrawn or terminated, without the consent of the Owner, for a period of one hundred and eighty (180) days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidder's qualifications prior to the contract award. Attention is called to the fact that not less than, the federally determined prevailing (Davis-Bacon and Related Acts) wage rate, as issued by the U.S. Department of Labor and contained in the contract documents, must be paid on this project. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual identity, gender identity, or national origin. Val Verde County is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
