Description | The work generally consists of construction of aircraft parking apron to support the future passenger terminal. Work area is within the airport perimeter fence, and is to be completed in two construction phases. Engineer's estimate of probable construction cost is between $810,000 and $910,000. Approximate project quantities include: o 2,300 SY Pavement Removal o 5,800 CY Unclassified Excavation o 50 FT Storm Trench Drain o 2,600 SY Recycled Aggregate Base Course and 1,800 SY Modified Subbase o 4,100 SY Concrete Pavement o 5 Acres Seeding, Fertilizing o Associated Erosion Control o Traffic Control The Mason City Municipal Airport has established a construction schedule not to exceed 70 Calendar Days for the primary construction phase, Phase 1. All Phase 1 work shall be completed within 70 calendar days. An initial construction phase, Phase 0, has been established for pavement removals within the footprint of the future terminal building. Phase 0 must be complete by September 10th , 2022. Phase 0 and Phase 1 is subject to liquidated damages as prescribed within the project manual. Bid security in the amount of Five percent of the Bid must accompany each Bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. The successful bidder shall be required to provide performance and payment Bonds, each in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract Price. All proposals submitted in accordance with the instructions presented herein will be subject to evaluation. Bids may be held by the Airport Commission for a period not to exceed 30 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of conducting the bid evaluation. It is the intent of the Airport Commission, after a period of review and evaluation, to award the contract to the responsible bidder that submits the lowest responsive proposal, meeting the requirements of the technical specifications and supplemental Owner specific additions and clarifications. The right is reserved, as the Airport Commission may require, to reject any and all bids and to waive any informality in the bids received. Goals for minority participation for each trade 2.0% Goals for female participation in each trade 6.9% Representatives of OWNER and ENGINEER will be on the call to discuss the Project. Bidders are encouraged to attend and participate. ENGINEER will transmit to all prospective Bidders of record such Addenda as ENGINEER considers necessary in response to questions arising at the conference.
