Selection may take place before MATA’s Board of Commissioners in September. Installation of Three (3) Bus Charging Stations. MATA reserves the right to reject any and all BIDS, and to waive any informality in bidding. Requests for clarification or approved equal must be submitted in writing to Frances Boyland, Contract Administrator, MATA 1330 Levee Road, Memphis, TN 38108 or email to fboyland@matatransit.com and must be received no later than 11:00 a.m., local time July 17, 2023, The electrical scope of this project consists of adding three (3) electric vehicle charging stations for new electric buses that will be charged in the maintenance yard ofthe Memphis Area Transit Authority (MATA) property located at 1370 Levee Road, Memphis, TN 38108. The charging stations are Direct Current (DC) type of Chargepoint+ manufacturer. Charging stations consist of Power Block (power converter) and a Power Link (electrical "dispenser"). Each charging station requires 260A and roughly 216kW at unity power factor. To accomplish this project the electrical work will consist essentially ofthe following items: A. Replace existing 300kVA utility own transformer with 750kVA. This work to be performed by Memphis Light Gas & Water (MLGW). MLGW will reuse the existing electrical meter measuring new charging station load. B. Provide new underground feeders (conduit and wiring) from new transformer to new NEMA 3R, 1200A, 480V power distribution panelboard mounted in unit strut rack or concrete pad, whicheveris most feasible per electrical equipment procured and installation recommendations. Underground conduit shall be in steel reinforced concrete duct hank, Coordination with MLGW is required for connection ofnew feeders to new transformer. C. Strut rack or concrete pad shall be installed on new concrete slab indicated in the Civil drawings. D. 1200A rated power distribution panelboard shall have a 1000A Main Circuit Breaker rated for 80% trip (800A). The power distribution board shall have three (3) separate 350A/3P circuit breakers to power to each ofthe Chargepoint+'s power blocks. E. The power distribution shall have a Surge Protection Device (SPD) as recommended per Chargepoint+ charging station installation manual. The overcurrent device for the SPD shall be sized according to SPD manufacturer'srecommendation. F. Provide underground conduit and wiring in steel reinforced concrete duct banks from power distribution panelboard to power blocks and from power blocks to power links. Size of conduit and wire are indicated on electrical drawings. G. Provide all new grounding as required per Chargepoint+ recommendations. H. Provide bollards for protection against damage to electrical equipment and charging stations. Bollards shall be at least 36" away from electrical equipment and to be 48" apart. Height must be 42" above grade and made of 6" steel conduit filled with concrete. |
