Description | Counties: DIST/ST-WIDE Road Name: Audible Pedestrian Signals (APS) Pushbutton Contract Limits: Midpoint Project(s): 44081635203(*) Federal Aid No: N/A Total Roadway Length: 0.000 Miles Contract Days: 730 Total Bridge Length: 0.000 Miles Total Proposal Length: 0.000 Miles Contract Execution Days: 10 Special Start Date: N/A Aquis/Flexible Start Time: The Improvements under this Office of Safety Contract consist of retrofitting existing traffic signal infrastructure to receive Accessible Pedestrian Signals (APS). The retrofit might require new pedestrian poles, curb ramp modifications, APS buttons installation, cabinet modification and additional ADA improvements as needed. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and supplies required to complete the work in accordance with the work plan, specifications, procedures, and terms of the contract. The DEPARTMENT will not specify contractor crew size, work methods or equipment complements, provided the desired work quality is achieved as evaluated by the Project Engineer. The work under this Contract will be controlled by the issuance of Work Documents. All work in this contract is considered specialty work. The number of work documents for the contract will be limited by a budgetary cap of $500,000 and 730 available days, whichever is reached earlier. The quantities shown on the Bid Price Proposal are approximate and only represent estimated planned requirements based on historical or specific project needs. The Department does not guarantee any maximum or minimum quantity, any range of quantities, or the exact quantities shown for each bid item. The Departments estimated quantities and the Contractors bid price will be used to calculate a total bid amount. This total bid amount will then be used to determine the low bidder; however, actual payment under the awarded contract will be based on actual quantities completed. For this Contract in which specific sites are not identified at the time of letting, the Engineer will issue a Contract Work Document. Contract Work Documents will identify the location, description, amount of work to be accomplished, and the number of calendar days to complete the work. See Advertisement and Specification Package for details. For bids over $150,000.00, the standard proposal guaranty of 5% of the bid will be required, unless otherwise stipulated in the proposal advertisement. A Proposal Guaranty of not less than five percent (5%) of the total actual bid in the form of either a certified check, cashier's check, trust company treasurer's check, bank draft of any national or state bank, or a Surety Proposal Guaranty made payable to the Florida Department of Transportation must be received for each bid in excess of $150,000.00. A 100% Payment and Performance Bond will be required for all projects. All work is to be done in accordance with the Plans, special Provisions of the State of Florida Department of Transportation.
