Description | The Consultant shall provide final engineering design and construction plan preparation for the Horizon West Trail Phase I from the existing trail along Tiny Road to the existing Horizons West Trail at Winter Garden Vineland Road. The project consists of the design of a 10 to 14-foot-wide asphalt / concrete pavement multi use trail that will connect an existing 10-foot concrete multi-use trail along Tiny Road to the existing Horizon West Trail at Winter Garden Vineland Road. The total length of the trail is approximately 2.23 miles. This trail will serve as an important connection in the Orange County regional trail system. The trail travels north along Tiny Road ROW to Tilden Road where it joins the SR 429 ROW easement north to Winter Garden Vineland Road/CR 535. The intersection of Tiny Road and Tilden Road is currently under design and coordination might be needed to either upgrade or connect to this project including the necessary upgrades to the new signalized intersection crossing. Refer to the attached exhibit for the trail conceptual alignment Phase I. The total project length is approximately 2.23 miles. Trail amenities will include water fountains (where potable water is available), and park benches. Amenity location, specifications and model type will be provided by Orange County Parks and Recreation Division. The Consultant shall prepare the necessary engineering study to determine whether pedestrian-activated traffic signals, Rapid Flashing Beacons, or any other device at the intersection of the trail with Stoneybrook West Parkway and Robinson Road / Stoneybrook West Parkway are warranted in accordance with the current edition of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (FHWA). The Consultant shall perform those engineering services required to prepare a complete set of contract documents (plans and specifications) as described elsewhere herein. |
