Streambank Repairs

The Streambank Repairs Projects are located in three (3) locations along the Crabtree Creek Trail and one (1) location on the Neuse River Trail. Project Area 1: Crabtree Creek Trail Mile Marker 5 1/4, 5 3/8, and 6 east of Raleigh Boulevard Road. Project Area 2: Crabtree Creek Trail east of Wake Forest Road at MM 7 3/4 and MM 8 Project Area 3: Crabtree Creek Trail at 3637 Alleghany Drive east of Glenwood Avenue at MM 11 1/4. Project Area 4: Neuse River Trail Mile Marker 8 1/8. Connector trail to Horseshoe Farm Nature Preserve Project Area 1 consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and performing all work necessary and incidental to the installation of 230 linear feet of streambank stabilization and 430 linear feet of greenway. The stabilization includes grading and the installation of live stakes along Crabtree Creek. The greenway includes grading and asphalt installation to replace damaged areas of greenway on new location along with the installation of 154 linear feet of RCP. The improvements also include asphalt removal and grading to tie into existing greenway segments. The site will be revegetated with bare roots and livestakes. The contractor will be responsible for providing necessary erosion and sediment control as well as traffic control. Project Area 2 consists of 350 linear feet of streambank stabilization broken into four sections including the following: vegetated soil lifts, boulder toe structure, grading, removal and proper disposal of excess material, furnishing and planting live plant materials in-stream and throughout the floodplain, erosion control installation, traffic control and pedestrian detour, seeding and mulching, and tree removal. Project Area 3 consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and performing all work necessary and incidental to the installation of 1,213 linear feet of streambank stabilization and 1,476 linear feet of greenway. The stabilization includes installation of wood toe with soil lifts and live stakes along Crabtree Creek. The greenway includes grading and asphalt installation to replace damaged areas of greenway on new and existing locations along with the installation of one RCP drainage pipe. The improvements also include asphalt removal and grading to tie into existing greenway segments. The site will be revegetated with bare roots and livestakes. The contractor will be responsible for providing necessary erosion and sediment control as well as traffic control. Project Area 4 consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and performing all work necessary and incidental to the relocation and stabilization of approximately 196 linear feet of an unnamed tributary of the Neuse Rivers. The work includes installation of constructed rock riffles, vanes, boulder and brush toe and boulder sill. The site will be revegetated with bare roots and livestakes. The contractor will be responsible for providing necessary erosion and sediment control as well as traffic control.
