Description

This contract shall include all necessary superintendence, labor, equipment, tools, materials, painting, safety measures, environmental protection, disposal of surplus items, site restoration, and all other related construction for the proposed improvements. This proposed project shall be completed as shown on the contract plans and specifications. This contract includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Remove and dispose of the existing concrete perimeter and interior walls of the four drying beds, as shown in the plans. 2. Construct new reinforced concrete perimeter and interior walls for the four drying beds, as shown in the plans. 3. Remove and replace the existing sidewalk at the south side of the four drying beds as necessary to construct the new concrete walls. 4. Remove and replace the existing 6” plug valve for each of the four drying beds. 5. Clean out the existing 10” sludge pipe. 6. Remove the existing sand and gravel media from within each of the four drying beds. 7. Remove the existing 12” main drain pipe and the existing 4” drain pipes from within each of the four drying beds. 8. Install the new 12” main drain pipe across the four drying beds as shown in the plans. The new drain pipe will be installed to the grade shown in the plans, opposite of the existing drain line that was removed. 9. Install the new 12” drain pipe from the west side of the drying beds to the proposed outfall structure into Pond No. 1, including proposed manhole, as shown in the plans. 10. Construct the proposed outfall structure on the end of the 12” drain pipe at Pond No. 1, as shown in the plans. 11. Install the new 4” drain pipes within each of the four drying beds as shown in the plans, including 6” pea gravel bedding and ¾” gravel embedment with filter fabric above. The 4” drain pipes shall be perforated PVC drain pipe (ASTM D-2729). 12. Furnish and install the gravel/sand media inside each of the four drying beds, as shown in the plans. 13. Construct the 6” reinforced concrete slab inside the west drying bed, as shown on the plans. 14. Remove the existing drain pipes on the north side of the four drying beds, provide compacted select fill to backfill the existing ditch, and slope to drain away from the drying beds and across the access road, as show in the plans.
