Description | **As of May 1, 2023, project was awarded to East Coast Grading, Inc., awarded amount is $835,900.74.** Budget costs are between $500k to $750k. The Engineer for the project is BM&K Construction & Engineering. The approximate extent and character of the Work is generally described as follows: Approximately 1.75 miles of asphalt patching, resurfacing, and striping on 3 City Streets in the City of Holly Springs, GA. Bidders shall inform themselves concerning Georgia Laws and comply with same The time allowed for Substantial Completion is 30 consecutive days from the date specified in the Notice to Proceed. Nonrefundable liquidated damages in the amount of $300 per calendar day will be deducted from monies due the Contractor in the event that a portion of the work remains incomplete beyond the agreed upon contract completion date. The official Notice to Proceed is anticipated to be given to the chosen contractor in the spring of 2023. The work is anticipated to take place during the month of June and/or July 2023. Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond with good and sufficient surety or sureties approved by the owner for faithful acceptance of the contract, payable to, in favor of, and for the protection of the OWNER in an amount equivalent to five percent (5%) of the total amount payable by the terms of the contract or, in lieu thereof, in the form of a certified check or cashier's check. The Successful Bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond for 100% of the contract amount and a payment bond for 100% of the contract amount, with the executed Agreement meeting the requirements of the Contract Documents and executed on the forms attached to the Agreement. The terms and time for payment are set forth in the Agreement. Surety and insurance companies must have an AM Best rating of A-6 or greater, be listed in the Federal Registry of Companies holding Certificates of Authority and Acceptable Sureties on Federal Bonds, be licensed by the Georgia Insurance Department and the Georgia Secretary of State to do business in the State of Georgia. Requests for payments are due by the Fifth (5th) of the month for payment by the Twentieth (20th) of the month less 5% retainage. Retainage will be held until final acceptance of the project by the City of Holly Springs. All Bids will remain subject to acceptance for 60 days after the day of the Bid opening, but OWNER may, in its sole discretion, release any Bid and return the Bid security prior to that date. All work performed for this project shall be in accordance with Georgia Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Construction of Roads and Bridges, 2021 Edition, or current edition and attached modifications and special provisions Each bid must be submitted in a SEALED ENVELOPE addressed to the OWNER. Each sealed envelope containing a bid must be plainly marked on the outside as, bid for "City of Holly Springs 2023 LMIG Asphalt Resurfacing Project and the envelope should bear on the outside the name and address of the bidder. If bid is forwarded by mail, the sealed envelope containing the bid must be enclosed in a separate mailing envelope and plainly marked on the outside as, Sealed Bid for "City of Holly Springs 2023 LMIG Asphalt Resurfacing Project to the attention of the OWNER. The mailing address is P.O. Box 990 Holly Springs, GA 30142. Bids may be hand-delivered to Holly Springs City Hall at 3237 Holly Springs Parkway, Holly Springs, GA 30115. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive formalities and re-advertise. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
