Description | The project consists of inspection, testing and clearing of 50 roof drains and approximately 400 ft of drainpipes for the Scope Arena (drainpipes are 2, 3, 4 and 6 inches in diameter). 1. The Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, and materials to complete the work. The work shall consist of, but not be limited to: a. Inspecting and testing all roof drains, drainpipes, and providing a written report detailing all pressure test result and flow observations of all drainpipes to the City. b. Performing Hydrostatic Pressure Testing to determine if there are water leaks present in the plumbing system. c. Performing Video Camera Pipe Inspection using an in-line sewer or drain video camera equipment to perform drainpipe camera inspection of drainpipes. The infrared camera shall be inserted into system through existing cleanouts, roof vents, or drains to observe and analyze the condition of the drain system to identify exact locations of obstructions, breaks, stoppages, or deteriorated pipes along with approximate depth of the pipe. d. Inspecting, testing and confirming all Hydrostatic Pressure Testing and Video Camera Pipe by: i. Conducting inspection and testing. All work shall be conducted by a licensed plumber or a licensed plumbing subcontractor. ii. Water testing all drains using a standard ¾” hose running full on for a minimum of 10 minutes per drain. iii. Verifying that the primary roof drains, overflow roof drains, and plumbing vents located within the project areas are free of debris and properly functioning. The Contractor shall perform a flood test of existing roof drains and connections to piping by temporarily plugging the drainpipe below the existing connection. iv. Notifying the City immediately if defects are found in the roof drain assembly components, or if the roof drains and/or plumbing vents are found to be blocked, clogged, or otherwise not properly functioning. v. Prior to start of unclogging and cleaning the drains, providing a report to the City indicating all inspection and testing work has been completed to include the details of the results of the roof drain inspection/testing and any corrective action needed. vi. After completion of removal of all obstructions, verifying that primary roof drains, overflow roof drains and plumbing vents located within the project area are free of debris and properly functioning. The plumber shall perform a second flood test of existing roof drains located in the project areas. The flood test shall include the same testing as completed prior to the roof work. |
