Description | 1. Provider shall provide a licensed animal control officer available 24/7, 365 days a year who shall canvass the municipality picking up and confining dogs and cats running at large as required by law under NJ.S.A. 4:19-15.16. ACO's must also respond to calls from the Village regarding dogs running at large, as well as stray dogs that have been confined by police and/or residents. 2. Provider shall have N. J. State Certified Animal Control Officers (ACO's) and Animal Cruelty Investigators (ACI's). The ACO's/ACTs will be able to investigate cruelty, abuse, and neglect incidents. 3. The shelters will meet or exceed NJAC 8:23A. The providers shelter must be licensed by the local health authority have a satisfactory placard, and a vet of record 4. The provider must be able to respond to emergencies such as, hoarders and flooding. 5. Provider will remove potentially rabid wildlife from the resident's homes. This includes bats. If there was an exposure. The provider will prepare the specimen, complete the paperwork (VIR-16), and transport to a courier location. |
