Description | The undersigned hereby proposes to furnish to the Board of Water Works Trustees of the Des Moines Water Works, the liquid polyphosphate (PO4) requirements for 2023. An estimated total of 203,163 pounds of polyphosphate solution will be required in 2023. This polyphosphate will be used to prevent calcium carbonate scale formation in the treatment of a municipal water supply that utilizes lime softening as a treatment process. The undersigned hereby states the polyphosphate to be supplied will meet, or exceed the latest revision of the following specifications: This material shall be certified as suitable for contact with or treatment of drinking water by an accredited certification organization in accordance with the latest revision of the ANSI/NSF Standard 60, Drinking Water Treatment Chemicals - Health Effects. Vendors delivering to the McMullen Treatment Plant at Maffitt need to provide certified weight scale tickets for truck and trailer. Bulk shipments of liquid polyphosphate shall be delivered to Des Moines Water Works in stainless steel or aluminum tank trucks. Trucks shall be capable of unloading liquid polyphosphate into a below grade storage tank at Fleur Drive and into a storage tank on grade at Maffitt. Fill line will be equipped with a 3" cam and groove fill connection located approximately 4' above grade. Suppliers shall provide their quote F.O.B. point of destination as listed above. The price quotation shall be a firm price per pound of the delivered product for any quantity greater than or less than the estimated quantity until December 31, 2023. Deliveries will be specified to the supplier on an as needed basis The Des Moines Water Works reserves the right to reject any or all quotations, to waive informalities in any quotation and to accept the quotation which it determines to be in the best interest of the Des Moines Water Works. |
