Description

ROC ATCT Base Building HVAC Upgrade: - Option #1:Replace the existing ground mounted 30-ton HVAC unit currently designated as ACU-2. This unit serves all administrative areas in the base building. All exterior supply and return ductwork shall be replaced with internally lined ductwork that is sealed to avoid any water penetration. Replace electrical circuit breakers, disconnect switches and conductors with new. Reuse the existing concrete pad for the new unit. Ensure that the modulating bypass damper (intended to divert HVAC to TRACON in case of ACU-3 failure) is functional. Discard old unit and remove from site. Connect and make compatible all control points to existing controls system. Provide temporary HVAC during construction. Reference drawing AEA-D-34684-M001 for existing equipment schedules. Provide unit with low ambient controllers as required to operate in colder temperatures. Provide equipment submittal for approval. - Option #2: Replace the existing Roof mounted 20-Ton HVAC unit currently designated as ACU-3. This unit serves the TRACON and electronic equipment rooms. Reuse the existing roof curb if possible. Reseal all penetrations. Connect to existing ductwork. Replace electrical circuit breakers, disconnect switches and conductors with new. Discard old unit and remove from site. Connect and make compatible all control points to existing controls system including humidification. Provide temporary HVAC during construction. Reference drawing AEA-D34684-M001 for existing equipment schedules. Provide unit with low ambient controllers as required to operate in colder temperatures. Provide equipment submittal for approval. - Option #3: Replace the three wall-hung Baird HVAC units of similar size serving the northwest corner electronics room and UPS equipment room. Provide new digital thermostats with these units (lead/lag t-stats for the 2 units serving the electronics room). Replace electrical circuit breakers, disconnect switches and conductors with new. Ensure that these units have a gravity backdraft damper when not in use to prevent HVAC short circuiting. Discard old units and remove from site. Provide unit with low ambient controllers as required to operate in colder temperatures. Provide equipment submittal for approval - Option #4: Connect the Option #3 units to the existing controls system and have them to be controlled and monitored by the DDC front end. - Option #5: Remove the abandon HVAC unit currently designated as ACU-1 from the roof and provide an insulated weather tight sealed metallic cap over the existing roof curb. Discard old units and remove from site. - Option #6: Thoroughly clean dust and dirt from the supply/return ducts and return plenum of the base building.
