Description

Work consists of but is not limited to construction of a new reinforced concrete retaining wall, approximately 150 feet in length, with waterproofing and drainage. A portion of the existing wall will remain in place as a cofferdam during construction and the upper portion of the existing wall will be partially demolished, leaving sufficient structure to enable access to the riverside. Demolished portions of the existing wall to be re-used as fill between the new and existing walls as well as headwall(s) for drainage structures on the site. A portion of one existing sluiceway wall to have its scour remediated. All excavation to follow the Corrective Action plan (CAP). Approximately 1800 cubic yards of soil will be excavated: 1,100 cubic yards will be used as re-fill; 700 cubic yards will be disposed of offsite as waste or daily cover. Excavated soil will be stockpiled on polyethylene plastic sheeting. any material transported offsite will be done in accordance with the Soil Management Plan. Excavation to include temporary removal, storage and resetting of drainage structures and piping, and pavement. Demolition and excavation are to occur while minimizing disturbance to an existing concrete pier and dry laid stone wall.
