Description

As of July 24, 2023, an engineer and construction manager at risk firm has been selected. This project is in the pre-construction-negotiated status and sub-bid trade bidding is in process. It is anticipated construction will start in September 2023 and end summer September 2029. The Proposed Action generally consists of the placement of a sediment diversion through a portion of the federal Mississippi River and Tributaries (MR&T) Project mainline levee on the right descending bank of the Mississippi River (River) at approximately River Mile 60.7 and through the future New Orleans to Venice (NOV) Hurricane Protection Levee, extending into the mid-Barataria Basin in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana.
