Multiple Site Groundwater Monitoring and Associated Activity

PGW currently operates five former Manufactured Gas Plant (MGP) properties enrolled in the Pennsylvania Land Recycling and Environmental Remediation Standards Act (Act 2) and Title 25 Chapter 250 of the Pennsylvania Code - Administration of the Land Recycling Program. In addition to these sites, PGW operates other properties that are not currently enrolled in the ACT 2 program but which may require attention from an environmental compliance standpoint or may be candidates for enrollment in the Act 2 program. CLARIFICATION DEADLINE 7/8/2022 3:00 PM PGW currently conducts groundwater monitoring at four of these sites on a quarterly basis. At three of these sites (Passyunk Plant, Richmond Plant, and Tioga Yard), groundwater monitoring is voluntary, and groundwater results are not submitted to thePennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP). At one of these sites (9th and Diamond), groundwater monitoring and reporting are mandatory, and quarterly reports are submitted to the PADEP by the consultant conducting the sampling. Monitoring wells at the four sites are located both on-site and off-site, including in public rights of way.
