Description | Replacement of entire synthetic turf playing surface at War Memorial Stadium - Jonah Field, including regrading of existing aggregate base to manufacturer tolerances, markings and graphics similar to the existing field, that are in compliance with current NCAA regulations. Question Deadline 02/24/2023 at 4:30 PM MT Last day to submit Questions/Substitution Requests A. Removal and disposal of the existing synthetic turf. B. Regrade existing aggregate base to turf manufacturer tolerances. There are two (2) known minor depressions at the south edge of the existing surface, outside the playing field, in need of repair. C. Installation of new in-filled grass synthetic turf upon existing bases (-82,000 s.fi). 1. Field markings for Football, per current NCAA Rules. 2. Outlined Football numbers, mid-field and conference logos, and endzone, midfield, and sideline graphics, similar to the existing field. Final design must be approved by Owner before fabrication. D. Remove and reinstall goalpost, if required. E. (1) G-max test at completion. F. Final cleaning/ grooming. G. Close-out documentation including as-built drawings and specifications, submittals, and O&M manual. H. 10-year warranty for new synthetic turfsurface. I. Add-Alternates: 1. Expand Coaching Box and Team Area to 20-yard line, in both directions, on both east and west sides. a. Sawcut and remove existing concrete and base in four (4) locations (-240 s.f. total). b. Provide and install permeable aggregate base/ sub-base, and in-filled grass synthetic turf, to manufacturer's specifications. Remove and relocate existing turffabric attachment nailer, or provide new, as required. 2. Investigation of the existing base/ sub-base. To be completed as soon as field availability and weather conditions allow. a. Open existing turfto access existing condition in four to six (4-6) locations for investigation. b. Pothole by hand down to top of existing drainage pipe in minimum of two (2) locations. Backfill upon completion. c. Onsite permeability testing of exposed aggregate. d. Sampling of aggregate for laboratory gradation testing. e. Seam existing turf back immediately upon completion. f. Provide report of investigative findings. 3. Investigation of existing field drain system by camera -- assume 800-1200 l.f. On-site work will be able to commence after the football Spring Game, April 30, 2023. The tentative Substantial Completion date is July 1, 2023. |
