Description

Transfer Station Wood Waste Processing and Disposal The basic project is the processing and disposal of existing wood waste onsite at the Town of Newtown Transfer Station, Ethan Allen Drive, Newtown, CT. The quantities for bid purposes are as follows: 1. General brush and smaller limbs-6,869 CY 2. Large wood/Tree Trunks-6,306 CY 3. Tree stumps- 262 CY All three (3) items are in separate piles. After the bid has been awarded, the successful Contractor, in conjunction with the Town, will re-measure all the items and come to agreement as to the exact quantities at that time. Then a segregated area will be established for all new material that is taken in during the initial processing time. The new material will be measured and the Contractor, at the discretion of the Town, will process that material in the same manner as the original established unit pricing per CY The Purchasing Authority of the Town of Newtown reserves the right to accept or reject any or all options, or proposals; to waive any technicality in any proposal or part thereof, and to accept any proposal deemed to be in the best interest of the Town of Newtown. The Town of Newtown is an Affirmative Action Employer - MBE/WBE are encouraged to bid.
