The winning bidder will supply and install all cabling, hardware, and terminations for the project. Some of the locations will require trenching and installation of conduits. These requirements will be in greater detail in the appropriate section of this document. The Town of Manchester's fiber network is the backbone of the municipal network that allows all departments to work together and connect with residents in a timely and efficient manner. The current fiber configuration consists of what is referred to as loops and this project involves our Main Loop. The current Main Loop fiber consists of approximately 335 poles and 48 strands of a combination of ADSS and armored cable lashed on 1/4" steel strand. This project will add 144 strands of fiber optic cable to the Main Loop. The new fiber will be over-lashed to the existing fiber mostly following the existing route. Thinking ahead to future uses, the new fiber route will include storage loops and cabinets installed in key locations. The goal of this project is to add fiber and connections that will allow the Town to expand the use of technology to better serve our residents. The Town welcomes feedback from vendors in regards to the best configuration and location of storage loops and termination points to allow for seamless growth Question Deadline 04/08/2023 at 11:00 AM ET Question Response Deadline:April 14, 2023, 4:00pm |
