Description

The ASD reserves the right to reject all proposals and/or to waive any minor informalities or irregularities contained in any proposal. Acceptance of any proposal submitted pursuant to this RFP shall not constitute any implied intent to enter into a contract. The contract award, if any, will be made to the Vendor/Contractor who, in the ASD's sole discretion, is best able to perform the required services in a manner most beneficial to the ASD Failure to comply with the requirements set forth in this RFP may result in disqualification. Proposals and/or modifications received subsequent to the hour and date specified above will not be considered. Submitted proposals may be withdrawn at any time prior to the submission time specified in this RFP, provided notification is received in writing before the submittal deadline. Proposals cannot be changed or withdrawn after the submittal deadline. No handwritten notations or corrections will be allowed. The responding Vendor/Contractor is solely responsible for all costs related to the preparation of the proposal. If the contract price, including labor and materials, is $ 50,000.00 or more, the successful bidder shall provide a performance bond and a labor and material payment bond each in the full amount of their bid. Inquiries concerning the Request for Proposals and the subject of the Request for Proposals must be made to: Jon Stonier Director of Buildings and Grounds Augusta School Department jon.stonier@augustaschools.org All pertinent inquiries received prior to 4 p.m. on February 23, 2023 will have answers emailed to all Vendor/Contractors by 4 p.m. February 28, 2023. Contract award (no later than) March 30, 2023 Background The Augusta School Department is the capital of Maine and is located approximately 60 miles north of Portland and approximately 75 miles south of Bangor. It has a population of approximately 19,000 that more than doubles in population 5 days per week, with visitors that work, shop, and conduct business in the city. The City of Augusta and the Augusta School Department have several facilities located throughout the city. SCOPE OF SERVICES 1.0 Demo and dispose of Air Handlers. Work with Director of Buildings and Grounds to drain and secure the water piping and power prior to demo. The existing Bipolar Ionization units will need to be removed and reinstalled. 1.1 Furnish and install new air handlers with plenum style fans with factory provided & installed Variable Frequency Drives (VFDS). With the exception of factory installed VFDS, the air handlers to be provided with actuators, sensors, or control devices, for the field installation of controls to work with the existing Building Automation System. Air Handlers must be Trane, Carrier, York, Daikan or equal. Field installation of controls will be completed by contracted controls company. There is one electrical panel that will need to be upgraded at the time of construction. Proposal will also include a 5 year warranty for parts and labor.
