Description | All bids rejected per school board For the construction/repair and/or installation of the following improvement(s): Bid No. B8871 Perkins Elementary HVAC Upgrades Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond, certified check, cashier's check or certified credit union share draft in a separate envelope in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid. See Division 00 Section "Instructions to Bidders" for additional information and full description of bid bond requirements and process. Lump-sum bids will be received under one contract as described in the specifications. Bids will be opened and read aloud immediately after specified closing time for receiving bids. All interested parties are invited to attend. The Board of Directors may make the award to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder meeting specifications. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids, or any part thereof, and to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract or contracts as shall be deemed in the best interests of the Des Moines Independent Community School District. Work under the proposed contract shall be commenced immediately after the award of the contract and shall be completed and ready for operation not later than 180 calendar days after the notice to proceed, subject to any extension of time which may be granted by the Board of Directors. By virtue of statutory authority, a preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa, and to Iowa domestic labor.
