Description

Project is generally described as a two story, 59,767 square foot classroom building of B use occupancy and IIB construction in accordance with the 2012 North Carolina Building Code. The Law Enforcement Training Center (LETC) will be located to the north of the existing Wake County training center. Associated sitework is included to construct the building, parking lots, and improvements to the stormwater facilities for the shared site. The building will be constructed of exterior brick on light gauge steel frame cavity walls with a steel frame structure and steel roof joists and a low slope roof with PVC roof membrane. Exterior walls will be insulated with spray polyurethane insulation. Windows will consist of aluminum storefront and curtainwall with insulated glazing. The building will be served by a geothermal HVAC system with roof top units and distributed heat pumps. The building will be fully sprinklered with an NFPA-13 sprinkler system. The project will pursue LEED Silver certification in accordance with the LEED Green Building Rating System. LEED Silver certification is Required
